Romina Magno Thomas, MD, is a physician who works at the Veterans Administration. After completing her medical education and training at University of Maryland in Baltimore, she worked with her physician father and nurse mother in private practice, delivering healthcare to families — alongside her family. She is currently a resident of Rehoboth Beach and is proud to have been working with veterans since 2014. Dr Thomas believes it is an honor to be able to deliver compassionate care to those that have served our country. She finds purpose working towards improving lives of those that deserve more than they have been given an opportunity to obtain.
Washed into Rehoboth from a scallop boat in 1980 and never left. I worked various jobs and
eventually found my place in the service industry at the Rusty Rudder, where I met my wife,
Mary. We’ve been married for 42 years and have two sons, Josh and Colin.
I started as a cook at Fisherman’s Wharf Lighthouse Restaurant from 1982 to 1991, then
purchased the business and ran it from 1991 to 2008. In 2005, we secured the food services
contract with Delaware Technical Community College. We currently operate the campus
cafeteria and provide one meal and two snacks daily to the on-site daycare. As part of our
partnership with DTCC, we also cater off-site events from that location and share a percentage
of the outside business generated.
During the school year, we also supply lunch to Sussex Academy of Arts & Sciences—both the
high school and elementary school. Additionally, we cater to private jets flying out of
Georgetown, DE, and Salisbury, MD. Recently, I was asked to take over private jet catering in
Easton and Ocean City as well.
I was raised Catholic and attended Catholic school from elementary through high school,
followed by two years of college. I believe that all good things come from God. Living with that
thought each day has brought me happiness and peace, and I strive to earn the Lord’s respect
through my actions every day.
